After you have had your fill of sun, and enjoyed all the
pleasures of the daylight hours it is time to check out the after-dark
scene – and believe it or not, that is when Barbados really starts to
heat up! Known as having the best all year round nightlife in the entire Caribbean, you can experience anything from the simplicity of the friendly local rum shop, to the flamboyance of a spectacular Bajan floor or dinner show. Take your pick from beach bars, pubs, wine bars, sports bars, jazz clubs, reggae clubs, discos, nightclubs, latin parties and karaoke bars, to cinema, live theatre and even the opera. Many bars feature daily happy hours, which is a great time to relax with a cocktail whilst awaiting the elusive “green flash” at sunset. The nightclub scene really varies from one night to the other, and there is normally a different place to go on every night of the week. Below is a list of some of the bars/nightclubs we personally recommend you try: |
|
BAKU - Very popular West Coast venue, featuring outside bar and restaurant in beautiful location overlooking the sea and beach, with live music/dj on most nights, and also air conditioned nightclub “Kasbah” with Moroccan styled interiors. The outside bar gets very busy on live music nights, but quiet and romantic on other nights during the week. THE COACH HOUSE - British style pub/restaurant with outside seating area. Live football coverage, karaoke nights and music from live bands on selected days of the week. RAGAMUFFINS - Situated down a back street in Holetown, this is
the place to go on a Sunday, for a good nights entertainment. SURFSIDE - Lively beach bar/restaurant situated in Holetown,
serving cocktails and snacks throughout the day and night. Live football
and sporting events shown via Satellite TV. |
| SOUTH COAST BARS/NIGHTCLUBS HARBOUR LIGHTS - One of the best nightclubs on the island, and very popular with the tourists. It has a superb open-air beachfront location, perfect for a “boogey” on the beach, or a dance under the stars! Mondays, Wednesday’s and Fridays are the best nights, for free drinks deals and live music. A late night BBQ and Grill takeaway bar is also at hand for an early morning snack. |

| THE BOAT YARD - Tuesday nights at the boatyard are not to be
missed. With live music and dj, free drinks all night long for a set
entrance fee, and open- air bar and restaurant, this is the most popular
night amongst tourists and locals alike. Located in Bridgetown, and
entry charge approximately $30. |
| CAFÉ SOL - Located on the busiest corner of “the gap”, Café
Sol is a Mexican themed open-air bar, ideal for a pre-dinner cocktail,
or a late night margarita. Also serving Tex-Mex munchies from the bar,
this is a great little place to watch the world go by.
THE SHIP INN - Local entertainment several nights of the week. Thursday’s and Saturdays are the best known nights where you can party along to top live bands. Bar snacks available. |
